The Barry Maney Group has announced the appointment of Jim Cornolo as its new General Manager.

From October 6 Cornolo assumes responsibility for the group’s six franchises: Ford, Hyundai and Volkswagen cars, along with Kenworth, DAF and Hino trucks.

Cornolo’s involvement with the SA company extends more than 15 years, having spent the past 11 years initially as Truck Sales Manager and later as the Dealer Principal for the PACCAR franchise (Kenworth and DAF).

In his new capacity as General Manager, Cornolo will also continue as Dealer Principal for both the PACCAR and Hino franchises, while Barry Stafford remains in the position of Dealer Principal for Ford, Hyundai and Volkswagen.

“I am very grateful for the opportunity to take this next step in my career within an industry that I thoroughly love,” said Cornolo.

“I am fortunate to work alongside a very experienced and competent leadership team who are dedicated to providing an exceptional level of service, that our customers expect and deserve.

“Over the years, I have been very fortunate to build some wonderful customer relationships and look forward to continuing to provide business solutions to those customers well into the future”

Cornolo will continue to be actively involved in the Barry Maney Group’s truck division and will oversee the appointment of a new Truck Sales Manager, to be announced in the weeks ahead.

Paul Crawford, Managing Director of BMG’s parent company, the CMV Group said: “It is really pleasing to see Jim take on this really important role.

“The road transport and passenger car industry are critical to the economies and mobility solutions for all areas in Australia, but particularly for regional areas such as the South East of SA and Western Victoria.

“Whilst I know Jim will continue to be intimately involved with our truck businesses, his new role as General Manager of the Barry Maney Group is a natural and exciting step in Jim’s career.”

The Barry Maney Group was founded by the late Mr Barry Maney OAM in July 1976, initially as a Ford dealer and with a team of 20 people.

Maney’s promise from day one was to develop a caring team culture and provide valued customers with the best after sales service possible.

Today, the Barry Maney Group employs 102 staff who are proud to continue the legacy that the Maney family built over many years.

The Barry Maney Group’s main dealership operations including Ford, Kenworth, DAF and Hino sales operates from Jubilee Highway West, Mount Gambier. They also offer a TRP truck parts sales site at Raglan Parade, Warrnambool, with authorised sub-dealers, Tatiara Truck & Trailer at McLellan Road, Bordertown, Kirchner Trucks on Stawell Road, Horsham and Progress Transport Services on Coghlans Road in Warrnambool.
