A 42-year-old Western Australian truckie claims he was resting in his truck at Mount Lambie, near the Great Western Highway, NSW, when several men forced entry into the cab this morning and began assaulting him.
The truck driver was shot in the leg during the incident and conveyed by ambulance to hospital, said police.
A crime scene has been established and an investigation is underway.
Another report said police are also investigating a second site on nearby Rydal Road.
“While it may just be a random event, it is more than likely there are further details they need to establish,” said Chifley Police.
No official updates on the driver’s condition but another report said he is recovering in a Sydney hospital.
