Two of Shaw’s Darwin Transport’s trailers are now proudly showing off the Little Wings logo, as part of a new partnership that seeks to promote the work of this important charity, which provides transport services for sick children in rural and regional NSW.
These trucks travel across the state and will provide greater exposure to the Little Wings cause. It’s hoped that this awareness will encourage people to make donations to Little Wings and enable them to continue their services.
Little Wings provides free, professional and safe flight and ground transport services, connecting with families that are silently struggling as they fight for the wellbeing of their seriously ill child.
Each year Little Wings’ three aircraft fly almost 3 million kilometres to transport over 6100 patients and family members to and from medical treatments.
The charity aims to ease the journey and help sick children access specialised medical services and treatments that are only available in major cities or towns. It does everything it can to support families by easing the financial burden, emotional strain and travel fatigue experienced due to the long-distance travel associated with receiving vital medical treatment.
“This partnership is one of true alignment. We are both in the business of transporting precious goods and taking care of communities from across the state of NSW. I like to think of us as partners with heart,” said Clare Pearson, Little Wings CEO.
“So we are very proud to be partnered with Shaw’s Darwin Transport and hope that this partnership will help us connect with families in need across the state, bring greater awareness on helping families when need it the most.”
Started in 1981, Shaw’s Darwin Transport is a specialist provider of road freight services to and from Darwin. From humble beginnings, it has grown into a national operation with depots in Perth, Darwin, Brisbane and Sydney.
