Road works are taking place in various parts of NSW, here’s a breakdown of where and when these are happening so you can plan ahead.
Night work on Pacific Highway at Karuah
From Monday 30 November between 7am and 5pm (Monday to Thursday), essential overnight maintenance work will be carried out on the Karuah River Bridge. Transport for NSW will carry out the work, which includes cleaning the bridge abutments, vegetation clearing, drainage repairs and joint maintenance work. It should be complete in one week. One lane will be closed and a 40km/h speed limit will be in place during work hours.
Night work on Pacific Motorway at Tweed Heads South
There will be changed traffic conditions on the Pacific Motorway at Tweed Heads South to carry out overnight maintenance work on the bridge over Greenway Drive. Work will be carried out on bridge joints to reduce bridge noise and provide smoother travel. One northbound lane of the Pacific Motorway will be closed from 7pm Monday 30 November to 6am Tuesday 1 December and one southbound lane will be closed from 7pm Tuesday 1 December to 6am Wednesday 2 December, weather permitting. Traffic control and a reduced speed limit of 40km/h will be in place.
Maitland Road at Hexham
Work on Maitland Road at Hexham to carry out utility investigations to inform future road work will start on Monday 30 November, and be carried out from 9am to 3pm on weekdays. This is expected to be completed in three weeks (weather permitting). Truckies are advised there will be lane closures and a reduced speed limit of 40km/h. No work will be carried out on weekends and travel lane interruptions will be limited during peak periods.
Oxley Highway east of Walcha
Changed traffic conditions will be in place next week on several sections of the Oxley Highway to carry out road resurfacing work east of Walcha. Intermittent lane closures and stoppages of up to 10 minutes will be in place to carry out improvements to the road surface. About seven kilometres of road will be resurfaced in areas including around Plum Tree Hill, Enfield Creek, Tiara Creek, Apsley Falls Road, Morgans Gully and Boree. Work will be carried out from 7am to 6pm from Monday 30 November and is expected to be complete in one week, weather permitting.
Night work on Shearwater Drive Bridge at Shortland
Maintenance work on Shearwater Drive Bridge over the Newcastle Inner City Bypass will result in changed traffic conditions between Shearwater Drive at Shortland and Vale Street at Birmingham Gardens. Works will include minor joint works, concrete repairs, installing reflectors on the bridge and line marking; and will be carried out between 7pm and 5am on Monday 30 November and Tuesday 1 December. Lane closures and a 40km/h speed limit will be in place.
Bruxner Highway west of Tabulam
The eastbound traffic lane of Bruxner Highway will be closed from Wednesday 24 November while work is carried out to improve the stability of the adjacent slope. Work will be carried out from 7am to 6pm on weekdays and from 8am to 1pm on Saturdays, and is expected to be complete in two weeks.
Oxley Highway at Sancrox
There will be changed traffic conditions on the Oxley Highway at Sancrox to carry out road surface repairs between Rawdon Island Road and the Pacific Highway interchange. Work to spray seal the road surface will be carried out on a four-kilometre section of the highway. This will be carried out over five nights from Thursday 26 November between 7.30pm and 5am.
