Road works alert: Burdekin Bridge down to a single lane

Truckies using the Burdekin Bridge in Queensland over the next two days can expect delays of up to half an hour.
The Department of Transport and Main Roads (TMR) begins reconstruction works there from this evening between the hours of 6pm and 6am with traffic flow down to a single lane during those times.
The TMR advises that there are also wide load restrictions in place.
Heavy vehicle operators with loads three metres wide or greater must contact Johannes Inoke (BMD) on 0438 029 239, at least 24 hours prior to advise of an anticipated time of arrival to allow for heavy equipment and other infrastructure to be cleared.
Failure to give advance warning will result in delays.
Access to the Southbound Oversize HV/Pilot waiting area – on the northern side of the Burdekin Bridge – will be closed during these works.
