Matthew Daley from Hobart was driving a Muskett’s 2015 Kenworth K200 with a quad dog loaded with plantation timber from Koonya and was on his way to Long Reach when he stopped for a chat.
“I have been on the road for about eight years now, and I am really happy with the job and no regrets at all for taking it up as a career,” he said.
“I’ve been driving for Muskett’s now for four months, but they run great gear, and look after us, and so far it is turning out to be a top job, and giving me a great change of scenery, and I’m loving it.”
Having started out as a builder, Daley said he now really enjoys getting out on the road, the variety and the ever-changing scenery – along with the interesting people he gets to meet along the way.
We asked him about his time off, and he said, “When I get a bit of time off, it is spent with the kids and the family.”
