As part of the initial pilot phase of the NHVR’s Strategic Local Government Asset Assessment Project (SLGAAP), 100 bridges and culverts were assessed across 12 local government areas nationally, with info now available to help truckies and operators plan their journeys.
Designed to help support better route planning on strategic freight routes around Australia, the SLGAAP pilot phase was completed in mid October. Basic asset information from the SLGAAP pilot is available on the NHVR Route Planner. Engineering assessment results will be uploaded by early 2021.
The engineering reports provide access information for more than 100 vehicle configurations, including oversize overmass vehicles, B-doubles and road trains.
Applications for Round 1 received great results from councils around Australia, with 1000 assets nominated by almost 100 council areas. These are now being prioritised for assessment by the end of June 2021.
If you’d like to provide feedback on bridges and culverts, this can be done via an interactive map.
