Lots of events and projects to look forward to in 2021

It’s nearly the end of January and the start of the New Year has been much better than 2020, we have not been under siege by horrendous bushfires and crippling drought, although we are still in recovery mode from Covid-19.

We are so fortunate to live in this great country even if it doesn’t seem so sometimes but we have too many levels of government and we need to have national issues handled by the Federal Government, not have each state making their own arrangements.

The arbitrary closing of borders not only effects families but businesses trying to operate over state borders.

The queues for trucks at the Victorian/NSW borders when Victoria decided just to re-close the border at New Year was ridiculous and had unconscionable impost on truckdrivers and the companies involved.

Families who had finally been able to go interstate to visit relatives or cross the borders for a few days’ relaxation were caught up in a mad dash home; yet we still allow international flights into the country.

How ludicrous is it, that everyday Australians cannot cross a state border, yet overseas travellers can return or enter the country?

Now to matters of Transport Women Australia Limited, at this point we are moving forward with our conference in Melbourne on May 28 – 30 at the Mantra, Epping.
