CMV Truck & Bus has entered an agreement to acquire D&S Truck Repairs in Shepparton, Victoria.
Is it expected that the transfer of ownership will take effect on April 12, 2021, with founders Don and Sharon Dimstas agreeing to remain with the business for a few months to assist the D&S team with the transition.
The family-owned business employs 13 staff who support a significant customer base in the Shepparton area, all of whom are being offered employment with CMV Truck & Bus.
Founded in 1996, D&S Truck Repairs currently represents CMV Truck & Bus and CMI Hino in the region for both parts supply and truck servicing and repairs of Volvo Trucks & Buses, Mack Trucks, UD Trucks as well as Hino Trucks & Buses.
CMV Truck & Bus, a division of the CMV Group, employs more than 500 people across Australia and is the Victorian franchisee for Volvo Group Australia brands; Mack, UD Trucks and Volvo Trucks and Buses.
It operates dealerships in Clayton, Dandenong, Derrimut, Epping, Traralgon and Wodonga, along with a Technical Training Centre at Derrimut and fleet management sites throughout Australia.
Reflecting on the acquisition, David Simmons, CMV Group Chairman, said the CMV Truck & Bus relationship with D&S Truck Repairs goes back to the 1990s.

“Sharon and I have every confidence that the CMV Group will be able to utilise the skills and significant experience of our current employees to help further grow the D&S Truck Repairs business.”

From a staff of five in 1934, the CMV Group now runs substantial operations in automotive dealerships and agriculture predominately in Victoria and South Australia, employing more than 1,600 staff.
CMV also administers the CMV Group Foundation, a charitable trust which channels the group’s distributable profit back into the community through donations to worthy causes.
This year also marks an exciting new era for Volvo Group Australia and CMV Truck & Bus alike, who are currently launching an entirely new range of Australian built Volvo trucks, featuring both Euro 5 and Euro 6 technology offerings.
