VTA releases provisional program for State Conference 2021

With the VTA State Conference 2021 just a few weeks away, the provisional program has now been released, based around the theme for this year’s event: ‘What’s in Front of the Transport Industry’.

“Among the over 30 presenters we have lined up to address delegates are Commonwealth and Victorian roads, transport and freight ministers, and their opposition shadows, senior representatives from key state and national roads, safety and freight authorities, road and rail infrastructure bodies, supplier representatives covering the major prime mover and equipment and technology manufacturers, and others,” said VTA CEO Peter Anderson.

“After a year when our ability to meet has been severely restricted, the VTA felt it important to assemble experts who can inform members and delegates about current and future issues impacting industry in terms of transport infrastructure, safety, human resources, industrial relations, and regulatory reforms.”

Key speakers will include:

  • Federal Assistant Minister for Road Safety and Freight Transport, Scott Buchholz;
  • Victorian Roads and Road Safety Minister, Ben Carroll;
  • Federal Shadow Assistant Minister for Road Safety, Senator Glenn Sterle;
  • Victorian Shadow Ports and Freight Minister, Roma Britnell;
  • NHVR CEO, Sal Petroccitto;
  • Freight Victoria CEO, Praveen Reddy; and
  • Victorian Wages Inspectorate Director, Robert Hortle.

“This is arguably one of our best line-ups of presenters, which is a real credit to the willingness of industry leaders in spite of border restrictions and uncertainty to update delegates on the key issues we are confronted with – I thank all of our presenters for their time and commitment and encourage you to join us in-person or online for all or parts of the conference,” Anderson said.
