Making life interesting

Passing through Kempton recently we caught up with Jack White, from Hobart.

With his eye-catching hair colour, he certainly stopped us, momentarily, in our tracks, but he explained, “Well I just thought I’d like to do something different for a change and make life interesting for a while.”

White was driving a 2014 Cleanaway 410 Volvo Euro 5 rigid Tautliner and was on his return leg from Launceston to Hobart before knocking off for the day.

“I’ve been with them for 16 months now, and I would have to say they are a great crowd to work for, I enjoy the job and work with a really good supportive crew, also I like the hours, and always something interesting to do, and new people to meet along the way.

“I only got my truck licence a year ago, and I was made up to get out on the road and get into a truck, something I had always wanted to do. I certainly don’t have any regrets about my decision – or the hair colour.”

We asked how he spent his time off, and he told us he is kept busy almost daily, working on his Mitsubishi FTO, as there is always something that needs attention.
