Australian truck and trailer equipment manufacturer D’Angelo Engineering has launched the MiniMax, the only mini fifth wheel with a D-Value of 75kN that complies with ADR62/02.
Though it’s small, the MiniMax is extremely tough. It’s suitable for recreational vehicles and any other application within its class. The MiniMax can also be inverted to hang upside down on any step-deck trailers and when combined with the D’Angelo Folding Kingpin it will allow you to return your ute or tray back to its original form.
A compact fifth wheel, the MiniMax measuring only 530mm wide x 390mm long, and weighing just 30kg. When designing the MiniMax, D’Angelo thought not only of the rugged Australian conditions but also the practical use of the product.
The MiniMax features a replaceable greaseless top pad, a replaceable greaseless wear collar and replaceable greaseless saddles for a clean environment and reduced maintenance costs. In addition, the release handle has been positioned so the operator can remain kerbside during operation for added safety.
Another advantage of the MiniMax over-ball type and smaller couplings is its stability, greater vertical load and larger towing capacity. This is coupled with an exclusive adjustable jaw, which minimises slack and improves jaw life.
The D’Angelo 50mm Folding Kingpin is the perfect match for the MiniMax fifth wheel. The kingpin can be folded away to allow the vehicle to fulfil dual functions.
The D’Angelo Folding Kingpin folds completely flat when closed, allowing you to utilise the full tray body or ute when the vehicle is not hitched to a trailer.
The MiniMax fifth wheel and 50mm Folding Kingpin are both designed and manufactured in Australia.
D-Angelo Engineering was founded in 1968 by Arrigo (Danny) D’Angelo and continues to produce its range of products in Melbourne to this day.
