The latest coronavirus outbreak in Melbourne has forced an 11th hour postponement of the Transport Women Australia conference scheduled for this weekend.
“It is with great sadness, disappointment, and an abundance of caution that Transport Women Australia Limited has decided to postpone their conference that was to take place this weekend, May 28-30, until a date to be determined,” said chair Jacquelene Brotherton in a statement released last night.
“We were looking forward to holding a face-to-face conference and event, and with great anticipation to be listening to some great speakers.
“We hope that everybody understands that with the circumstances in Victoria now we have made this decision so that our attendees will not be caught and have to return to their home states with the need to quarantine.”
The TWAL added that it will be advising everybody in due course as to the new dates and hope that they will be able to enjoy the conference at that time.
“We hope we can make it even bigger and better than ever. We appreciate your support and value your understanding.
“We hope that everybody keeps safe and follows the guidelines so that we can overcome these issues and we will be able to be back to normal soon.”
