Stopping over at the very popular Caltex at Sassafras the other day, we were very happy to catch up with Tommy Buckle from Colac, who drives a Wettenhalls 2020 V8 Euro 6 Scania log truck on the big island.
He was enjoying a couple of great days looking around Tasmania and said he had recently called in to see an old legend of the highways, Ian ‘Super Duck’ MacDonald at his home in Warrnambool, where they had gathered for a friend’s 60th birthday.
MacDonald has been having a run of bad luck of late, and we would like to join Buckle and all the blokes on the road in wishing him every possible good wish for his recovery after a recent amputation.
He is currently waiting for a decision from the medicos about the need for any further surgery, so we hope that this will finally be a good diagnosis for him. We would also like to join Buckle in wishing Jim “Jim Bob” May a speedy recovery after a successful lung transplant in the Alfred Hospital. And finally, congratulations to Mick Morris from Colac on his recent purchase of his own log truck and trailer, good luck mate.
