TruckSafe welcomes three new directors

The Australian Trucking Association (ATA) has appointed three new members to the TruckSafe board of directors: National head of chain of responsibility and compliance at Australia Post, Lindy Pascoe; WHS manager at Cleary Bros Transport, Kate Jarvis; and compliance manager at Blenners Transport, Maree Keilar.

TruckSafe is a business and risk management system aimed at improving the safety and professionalism of trucking operators nationwide.

“TruckSafe received many expressions of interest from a diverse range of people including trucking operators, auditors, consultants and safety product manufacturers,” said ATA chair David Smith.

“The ATA is thrilled to welcome Lindy, Kate and Maree, and have strong confidence that their skills, expertise and industry knowledge will be able to support TruckSafe’s mission and grow its influence.”

In their role as TruckSafe directors, they will help the board deliver demonstrable benefits to road transport operators, customers, governments and the community, as well as assist members to meet their duty of care and chain of responsibility obligations.

“Lindy, Kate and Maree have the passion and knowledge needed to help lead our industry to embrace safer and more productive transport practices,” added TruckSafe chair Ferdie Kroon.

“On behalf of the TruckSafe board I look forward to working collaboratively and openly with them to deliver value for members and industry.”

 

National head of chain of responsibility and compliance at Australia Post, Lindy Pascoe

A practicing lawyer, Pascoe brings a wealth of knowledge to the TruckSafe board with expertise in compliance, policy, investigations, prosecutions and legislation. Prior to her role at Australia Post, she has also worked with Visy Australia and VicRoads.

“Joining the TruckSafe board is an excellent opportunity to positively affect change and support a board that is passionate about the trucking industry,” Pascoe said.

“It offers the chance for me to share my knowledge and expertise in a meaningful way, as I believe TruckSafe benefits the trucking industry by providing a holistic approach to safety and compliance.”

 

WHS manager at Cleary Bros Transport, Kate Jarvis

Jarvis has more than 20 years’ experience in WH&S and injury management, with a Masters of OH&S Management and Bachelor of Medical Science. Her experience includes designing a range of WHS training programs in due diligence, leadership, risk management and specialised risk areas.

“I look forward to joining the TruckSafe board to consolidate my skills and experience in a new environment with a more strategic focus,” Jarvis said.

“The current board is very passionate about improving safety across the transport industry, and with some exciting initiatives currently underway it is exciting to join them on this journey.”

 

 

Compliance manager at Blenners Transport, Maree Keila

With nine years’ compliance management experience, Keilar has a range of expert knowledge across accreditation schemes including TruckSafe, the National Heavy Vehicle Accreditation Scheme, WA Heavy Vehicle Accreditation, HACCP and agricultural export. She is also a passionate advocate for safety and driver health.

“TruckSafe’s focus on not only the technical elements of accreditation but also the human safety factors is something I really believe makes a significant difference to industry safety outcomes,” Keilar said.

“I am thrilled to join the group of motivated and passionate safety experts and look forward to contribute to TruckSafe as a board director.”
