Volvo Group Australia is recalling 527 UD Quons (2017-19) because some of the bearing some of the bearing cups in the front and/or interaxles have been assembled without a thrust washer.
According to the ACCC recall notice, if the truck is operated under these conditions, the universal joint may ultimately break.
If the universal joint breaks, the propeller shaft may detach, causing the vehicle to become inoperable or causing an accident resulting in injury or death to the vehicle occupant and/or other road users.
Affected owners will be contacted and advised to make an appointment with their nearest Volvo Group Australia dealership to arrange for repair.
