Winners announced in virtual truck show for charity

Enterprising Queensland truckie Katherine Glover – founder of the Young Aussie Truckies support group – admits she was expecting a modest number of entries in her first virtual truck show for charity.

But Glover, 20, was “blown away” when around 50 stumped up with a fiver and put forward their big rigs for judging by their peers on Instagram, with many other generous donations coming in without a shot attached.

All proceeds go to the Brisbane Convoy for Kids, which raises money and awareness for children’s charities, but like a lot of others, had to postpone their 2020 event due to the pandemic. This year’s event is scheduled for Saturday, November 6.
