A dedicated QML freight and logistics Covid-19 testing site is now operational at Port of Brisbane.
Located at 58 Port Drive, the site is exclusively for the use of heavy vehicles and will be operational seven days a week, from 6am to 5pm.
In its latest industry bulletin Transport and Main Road’s Heavy Vehicles Unit also reminded fleet operators and truckies that under new changes to the F Pass, freight and logistics operators who have left the confines of the heavy vehicle in an Affected Aread must:
- get tested and receive a negative test result in the 7 days prior to entering Queensland, and
- be able to provide evidence of a test being undertaken in the 72 hours immediately prior to entering Queensland.
- maintain a rolling 3-day testing cycle until you leave Queensland or 14 days have passed since you were in the Affected Area, whichever is shorter.
Evidence must be made available at the Queensland border in order to enter Queensland.
“Queensland Government will continue to work with industry to identify COVID-19 testing site options that are suitable for heavy vehicles, and will provide further updates,” said the unit.
To support industry in maintaining mandatory testing the NHVR COVID-19 Support Map provides details of dedicated heavy vehicle driver testing sites across states and territories.
TMR also reminded industry that freight and logistics operators can be tested at all Queensland Health fever testing clinics.

“Operators can show their ID card and valid Queensland Border Declaration Pass to health workers when they arrive to be prioritised for testing. Costs may be incurred if operators go to a private testing facility.”
