The Glen Cameron Group Logistics division have taken delivery of the first of its new range Volvo FM11 prime movers.
These first trucks, part of a total order of 20, will be put to work delivering products and goods throughout the Greater Sydney area for Woolworths Primary Connect.
Featuring a Euro 6 11 litre 460hp engine and backed by Volvo’s class leading 12-speed I-Shift automated transmission, these first deliveries have been eagerly anticipated by the Cameron’s team.
“The FM has long been a staple part of our fleet,” said Shane Coates, Group Asset Manager, Glen Cameron Group.
“The improvements made in terms of visibility, noise and ride and accessibility have only served to increase the appeal of this truck across the differing applications we put it into.
“It’s a safe, versatile and efficient truck that can fill a lot of roles, and it’s always delivered for our business.”
Volvo Group Australia key account manager Frank Dumay, who handles the Glen Cameron Group account, said the new FM has a 10 per cent improvement in visibility over the old model.
“The addition of a blind spot camera and easier cab access make the Volvo FM a safe bet for drivers and other road users alike,” said Dumay.
“The new digital instrumentation, a touch screen entertainment unit and dash mounted transmission control make for a really classy workplace.
“It’s a great office for a shift behind the wheel.”
Gary Bone, vice president Volvo Trucks Australia, said there is no doubt the FM is a great solution for a lot of customers.
“However, it’s the efforts of our wider network and the efforts of our own people that really back up the nuts and bolts that make up a truck,” said Bone.
