A tribute convoy is taking place from the Westwood Hotel in Queensland tomorrow for Steve Latimer and Brian Shaw, the two drivers who were killed in a tragic accident at Wowan on Tuesday.
Organisers are inviting truckies to park at the side and rear of the pub on the Capricorn Highway from 7.30am [NB: this differs from the original meet point]. The front parking area is reserved for family and Clayton’s Towing vehicles.
At 9am, the convoy will roll out toward Parkhurst, past Brown and Hurley, go around the roundabout there, back to the Bull Ring and split up there.
Bobtail prime movers and body trucks only, please, say organisers.
“Your shifts are now over guys,” writes Leanne Dyer on the On the Pads Qld Edition Facebook page.
“No doubt everyone appreciates what you have done for your friends, your families, even your work mates.
“Take care fellow brothers. R.I.P STEVE LATIMER & BRIAN SHAW.”
Latimer was Clayton’s Towing’s area manager for many years and a real icon in the Rockhampton area, and Shaw was a delivery driver for Tip Top bread.
