The Bruce Highway is fully open again from south of Gympie and beyond.
Gympie was one of the first regions hit by the rain bomb leaving dozens of truckies stranded in the regional town.
Transport and Main Roads, however, warns of long delays today.

“It’s still a good idea to delay your travel plans if at all possible while our major routes are impacted and to assist with highway traffic flow,” it said on a Facebook post.
The TMR also advised that the M1 in New South Wales is currently closed from Tweed to Ewingsdale and Ballina to Grafton due to flooding.
Please follow all signs and directions, pay attention, always drive to the conditions and check QLDTraffic for the latest updates. Everyone’s been so patient, keep up the great work!”
