Penske Australia is recalling 106 Western Stars with the year range 2016-18. The recall applies to all variants within this model.

According to the notice issued by the Department of Infrastructure, Transport, Regional Development and Communications, the bulkhead pass through power cable stud with an attached gasket seal may contact the bulkhead.

“If this occurs it may result in an electrical arcing, increasing the risk of vehicle fire,” said the notice.

“A vehicle fire may increase the risk of serious injury or death to vehicle occupants, bystanders and/or damage to property.”

Owners of affected vehicles are advised to contact their preferred Western Star dealer to arrange to have the necessary work carried out and to have the parts ordered prior to your arrival, free of charge.
