Muir has a current Dangerous Goods licence and is certified in NHVAS Basic Fatigue Management, Maintenance Management, Mass Management and TruckSafe. Muir shows as keen interest in legislative issues and has been 24 years accident-free and 19 years without a traffic infringement notice.

The company demonstrates a commendable commitment to developing and maintaining the highest practicable standards of health, safety and welfare. The owners strive to meet legislative requirements and achieve best practice standards to create an environment and culture where everyone can reasonably expect to be free from injury and illness. They communicate that safety is one of their four core business values, have annual safety audits by external parties, have three qualified employees in Work, Health and Safety, two qualified mental health aiders and employ a full-time safey and compliance officer.

Woman of the Year – Sally Tipping, Tipping’s Transport

RFNSW CEO Simon O’Hara and award winner Sally Tipping.

Tipping took over the struggling business and turned it into a successful and resilient one. She has been an accredited member of TruckSafe and NHVAS since 2004. She is an advocate of workplace inclusion and diversity and works with her local disability organisation. In 2019, Tipping founded ‘Wave to a Truckie’ to highlight driver mental health and wellbeing and promote a positive public perception of drivers.

“There are so many amazing women in the transport industry all working hard and making incredible achievements,” said Tipping after her win.

“They inspire me everyday.”

Outstanding Contribution to the Transport Industry – Rebecca Neilsen, Holcim

Neilsen’s stellar career includes senior roles across logistics, training, safey and CoR. She has developed hundreds of training programs for the transport sector leading to a greater level of safety and compliance. Her focus is two-fold: business integrity and the safety of customers and employees.
