More Queensland highways close due to flooding

With rain continuing to fall and floodwaters still rising, the Department of Transport and Main Roads has shared some more updates on current road closures.

In the Southern Downs area:

  • The Cunningham Highway is closed at Sandy Creek, Warwick, Glengallan and Clintonvale.
  • The New England Highway is closed at Mount Marshall
  • Bracker Road is closed at Warwick

In the Logan and Scenic Rim areas:

  • The Mount Lindesay Highway is closed at Beaudesert between Cryna Road and Gunsynd Drive
  • Contraflow is in place on the Mount Lindesay Highway at Jimboomba Creek
  • The Cunningham Highway is closed at Lake Moogerah
  • Various local roads are also impacted

In Gympie:

  • The Bruce Highway north and south of Gympie may have to close if the Mary River keeps rising.

Near Gin Gin:

  • The Bruce Highway has flooded north of Gin Gin and the road is closed to all traffic at Tararan Creek
