After some delays following heavy rain, the 100-tonne ‘Pride of the Murray’ has this morning set off on her journey across three states.
Towed by a 700hp Volvo FH16, and sitting atop a trailer rated at 192 tonne, with 106 tyres underneath, the historic paddlewheeler has now reached the Victorian town of Barmah.
It’s taken approximately two hours to travel just 33 kilometres. It’ll be a slow and steady move, with trees having to be trimmed along the way, as it makes its journey.
