NSW floods: Road closure update

Live Traffic NSW has issued an update this morning on roads which are currently impacted by flooding. Here’s the latest.

Significant rainfall across the Hunter region has resulted in rising floodwaters, with the New England Highway closed along various sections.

At Singleton, the New England Highway remains closed between White Avenue and Pitt Street. Southbound heavy vehicles are being stopped at Muswellbrook, and all northbound vehicles are now being stopped at Whittingham.

In Whittingham, the New England Highway is closed between the Golden Highway and Kelso Street in Singleton. Range Road is closed between New England Highway and Golden Highway. The Golden Highway is closed between New England Highway and Range Road.

The Golden Highway has however reopened between the New England Highway and Range Road.

In Maitland, the New England Highway remains closed between the roundabouts at High Street and Church Street.  From Maitland to Cliftleigh, Main Road/Cessnock Road is closed between the New England Highway and Avery Lane.

Between Mitchells Flat and Branxton, Elderslie Road is closed between Gresford Road and the New England Highway.

Other reported closures include the Pacific Highway at Charmhaven, where the road is closed at Wallarah Creek Bridge.

From Heathcote to Lucas Heights, all westbound lanes of Heathcote Road are closed between the Princes Highway and New Illawarra Road.
