As Need For Feed’s hay run heroes continue their extraordinary efforts in delivering fodder to farmers impacted by the recent floods, one farming couple is paying it forward.
James and Felicity McMaster, from Coolah in central west NSW, received a load of hay from Need For Feed back in 2017, after their property was burnt out by the Sir Ivan fires near Dunedoo.
Ever since receiving assistance from Need For Feed, the McMasters had hoped to be able to give back to other farmers in need.
But following the fires, the area battled through drought and then a mouse plague, which put their plans to pay it forward on hold – until now.
The couple got in touch with Need For Feed earlier this year wanting to donate a full load of grass and lucerne.
Yesterday that load was picked up and is now bound for flood affected farmers in the Northern Rivers.
