Central Queensland operator to downsize the fleet

After 20 years in business, the owner of Central Queensland transport operation Easy Haul, has decided that the time is right to downsize his fleet.

Founded in Gracemere in 2002 by Richard Easey and his wife Julie, the couple have built their business from the ground up.

Starting with just one Mack Fleet-Liner, Easy Haul now operates a fleet of Volvo, Mack and Kenworth prime movers, which provide transport services throughout Queensland and nationally.

Now, however, the business will be putting seven of its prime movers and 12 trailers under the hammer, at the Ritchie Bros. Australian National Unreserved Auction on August 24 and 25.

“I would also like to take this opportunity to thank our staff and drivers,” said Easey. “After a long-standing relationship with Ritchie Bros., we have entrusted them to sell our fleet. We’d like to thank Ritchie Bros. for their help facilitating our transition to a smaller operation.”

Ritchie Bros. territory manager Michael Lindsay said Easy Haul has successfully bought and sold with the auction house in the past.

“With our national customer base and commitment to our customers we’re confident the unreserved auction will bring strong interest given the presentation and service history of the fleet, and the long wait times for new machinery,” said Lindsay.

The Easy Haul dispersal will include the following assets:

  • 2 x 2021 & 2020 Volvo FH16 Globetrotter 6×4
  • 3 x 2019-2016 Mack CLXT Super-Liner 6×4
  • 2012 Mack CMHT Trident Day Cab 6×4
  • 2008 Kenworth T408SAR Day Cab 6×4
  • 2022 Lusty EMS 26 m Tri/A stag combination tipping trailer
  • 2021 Lusty EMS 10 m Tri/A B-double lead sliding tipping trailer
  • 2019 MaxiTrans 9.5 m Tri/A B-double lead sliding tipping trailer
  • 2019 MaxiTrans 10 m Tri/A tipping trailer
  • 2 x 2012 & 2010 Lusty EMS 9.5 m Tri/A B-double lead sliding tipping trailer
  • 2 x 2012 & 2010 Lusty EMS 10 m Tri/A tipping trailer
  • 2012 MaxiTrans 13 m Tri/A flatbed trailer
  • 2001 Haulmark 6 m Tri/A B-double lead flatbed trailer
  • 2000 MaxiTrans 8 m Tri/A walking floor trailer
  • 2010 SDI Trailers Tri/A road train dolly

“With over 1500 assets already consigned to the National Unreserved Auction in August, and more being added daily, we will have strong interest. With record-high demand for quality transport equipment, Richard has decided now is the perfect opportunity to sell their fleet with confidence,” Lindsay added.

The auction event will be held exclusively online, interested buyers can register to bid here, with bidding opening on August 20. Day one of the auction (August 24) will be dedicated to construction and crushing gear while day two (August 25) will focus on transportation and agriculture assets.
