Toll Global Express will be changing its name and brand identity to Team Global Express from this month.
According to a brief media statement, the new name reflects the “passion, commitment, and integrity of our people who are the most integral part of our business as Australia and New Zealand’s leading intermodal logistics provider.”
Team Global Express CEO, Christine Holgate, said the company will gradually roll out the new brand across its digital assets, website, uniform, and fleet from September.
“Almost a year ago, we embarked on our journey to transform the way we deliver for our customers,” added Holgate.
“One element of this transformation is our name change to Team Global Express, which reflects our heritage, culture, and commitment to deliver trusted and reliable services for our customers.
“Our business has a deep history serving customers, but it is the passion, dedication, and integrity of our team that we wanted to harness for our new brand.”
A name change had always been on the cards after the underperforming parcel and logistics operation inside the Japan Post-owned Toll Group was bought by private equity firm Allegro Funds last year.
Allegro co-founder Adrian Loader told The Australian Financial Review that the first stage of the turnaround is well advanced, with the next stage focused on growth.
While there still may be smaller parts of the business that could be sold, Allegro is looking for deals.
“We are going to be in acquisition mode in the Australian business,” he said.
The rebranding news was also followed closely by another announcement confirming Toll Shipping would operate independently from the Team Global Express group and change its name to Strait Link.
Though Strait Link will be an independent company, it will still operate within the Allegro portfolio of businesses.
The renaming comes with a new brand identity inspired by the company’s connection to the Bass Strait and Tasmania.
“Allegro sees huge potential for the shipping business and becoming an independent company with strong leadership will empower the business to focus on what it does best in adding value for our customers,” Loader said.
