Overnight detour announced on Cunningham Hwy

detour

The heavy vehicles unit of the Department of Transport and Main Roads in Queensland has issued an important detour notice for truckies using the Cunningham Highway next week.

From 8pm Thursday, October 13, to 5am Friday, October 14, weather permitting, the Cunningham Highway eastbound between Warwick Road and Ripley Road at Yamanto will be closed for maintenance works.

During this time a detour is available for eastbound traffic via the Centenary Highway between Warwick Road and Ipswich Motorway at Darra.

“Please allow extra time when planning your travel and follow the directions of roadside signage and traffic controllers,” the notice said.

“TMR appreciates your patience and cooperation while these important works are carried out.”

The heavy vehicles unit also advises operators of important lane closure on M1 later this month.

From 3pm on Saturday, October 22, until 5am on Monday, October 24, weather permitting, the northbound left lane will be closed between Exit 95 (Stewart Road) and Exit 93 (KP McGrath Drive).

This closure is due to critical bridge works to widen the Currumbin Creek Bridge.

Overmass and oversize vehicles must use the right hand lane only during this time. Alternatively, detour via Gold Coast Highway and Reedy Creek Road.

Traffic delays are expected. Please reschedule your trip where possible.
