Sterle on the road again for Waste to Wages charity road trip

WA Senator Glenn Sterle was back at it again, behind the wheel over the weekend for another Perth to Kununurra charity run.

Sterle set off on Saturday morning and arrived in Kununurra on Monday afternoon to deliver mattresses and furniture for his latest Waste to Wages trip.

The furniture will go to Revive/CDS in Kununurra, which runs a program where staff clean up second hand furniture to give it a new lease of life and avoid it going to land fill.

It is then sold, with all money raised going back into to employing and training local indigenous people.

Don Bantock from Bedshed has donated over 200 mattresses for recent Waste to Wages charity runs. He joined Sterle for this latest trip.

“A big thank you to all who continue to support this program and who have donated furniture and a big shoutout to my long term partners KEYS – The Moving Solution and Centurion Transport for their ongoing support!” said Sterle.

After arriving in Kununurra, Sterle and Bantock spent Tuesday visiting the Wunan Foundation, to learn about their important work. This was followed by a visit to Wunan Health to deliver wheelchairs, walkers and donated other equipment.

“I’d like to thank everyone at Revive/CDS, Wunan, East Kimberley Job Pathways, KEYS – The Moving Solution, Centurion Transport and my crew who travelled up with me from Perth to help out. I could not have done this without you,” Sterle added.

“It’s been another great trip to the beautiful Kimberley region of WA and I’m already looking forward to my next Waste to Wages run.”
