Another bridge strike at Oxley Road in Brisbane

bridge strike

For the second time in less than a week a truck has hit the Oxley Road railway bridge in Corinda causing significant traffic delays.

Last Wednesday, a supermarket delivery truck hit the bridge, causing damage and spreading debris across the underpass.

Today’s incident occured just before 9am after the truck hit the southern side of the bridge, travelling north.

Police said there was a diesel spill at the site and traffic diversions were in place.

There no reports of injuries, or disruptions to the rail service.

The road was expected to be closed for hours while authorities work to remove the truck.

Big Rigs has approached Richers Transport for comment.

In April last year a Lindsay Transport truck became wedged under the same bridge causing commuter chaos for much of the day.
