The heavy vehicles unit at TMR in Queensland has advised operators that during the Christmas and New Year period, the following restrictions apply to an oversize vehicle or combination.
- An oversize vehicle or combination is not permitted to travel from 12 noon Friday, December 23, 2022 until 11.59pm, Monday, January 2, 2023.
- An oversize vehicle or combination movements which require more than one pilot or escort vehicle is not permitted to travel from 12.01am Monday, December 19, 2022, until 11.59pm, Monday, January 2, 2023.
Derestrictions
To assist with the movement of freight and equipment to and from the Port of Brisbane and Mackay Ports the following derestrictions apply.
Port – Bond Store/Holding Yard
A heavy vehicle or combination not exceeding 4.5m in width or 30m in length that is transporting a large indivisible item, during the Christmas curfew period, for the purpose of import or export, to or from the Port of Brisbane or Mackay Ports and a Bond Store/Holding Yard is permitted to travel from:
- December 27-30, and
- between sunrise and 10am.
Note: No movement is permitted on state-wide public holidays that fall between the December 27-30.
Port – loading/unloading equipment
A heavy vehicle or combination not exceeding 4.5m in width or 30.0m in length that is transporting a large indivisible item, during the Christmas curfew period:
- to or from a bond store/holding yard, via the arterial roads listed in Table 1 below, to a Brisbane bulk terminal wharf, via the arterial roads listed in Table 2 below for the purpose of loading/unloading bulk carriers, or
- to or from a bond store/holding yard, via the arterial roads listed in Table 1, to a Mackay Bulk Terminal wharf for the purpose of loading/unloading bulk carriers, or
- transporting to or from a Brisbane wharf, navy vessel gangways for personnel to disembark.
is permitted to travel from:
- December 27-30, and
- between sunrise and 10am.
Note: No movement is permitted on state-wide public holidays that fall between December 27-30.
