Foton announces details of first EV dealership and service network

Chinese truck giant Foton has announced details of its first dealership and service network around Australia for its ‘new energy’ range.

With Foton light-duty electric trucks rolling out on Australian roads from Christmas, Foton Mobility Distribution (FMD), the exclusive Foton Australian distributors, said that the need to provide a quality service and support network has been a key priority.

FMD has appointed the following dealerships to support its EV light-duty truck and related FMD zero emission trucks and vans.

Cairns: ABC Sales & Maintenance (sales/service/spares).

Townsville: RGM Maintenance (service and spares only).

Brisbane: Llewellyn Motors (sales/service/spares).

Melbourne: Sustainable Vehicle Solutions, a CMV Group company (sales/service/spares).

Adelaide: Sustainable Vehicle Solutions, a CMV Group company (sales/service/spares).

Perth: G & A Lombardi (sales/service/spares).

Sydney: Foton Mobility Distribution (sales/service/spares and support).

FMD has also appointed Truck Assist to provide 24/7 roadside assistance anywhere in Australia via a 24/7 dedicated number (1800 942 583).

“We are pleased to partner with Foton Mobility and represent their new energy trucks, both in the Victorian and South Australian markets through a new business unit, Sustainable Vehicle Solutions,” said Paul Crawford, CMV Group managing director.

“CMV Group is firmly focused on supporting the transport industry in the transition to more renewable energy sources and our investment into a sustainable vehicle solutions hub and the Foton brand itself is just step in that process.”

Lombardi’s dealer principal Paul McGovern describes the Foton EV as one of the most exciting releases he has been involved with in 35 years of selling trucks.

“It drives sensationally well and better than any small truck I have driven,” said McGovern.

FMD is in the process of delivering 40 new light-duty Foton EVs to customers around Australia with similar shipments planned each month throughout 2023 to meet demand.

“New ernergy vehicles are the way of the future, and we are excited to be able to offer alternative transport solutions to our  clients,” concluded Peter Woodward, managing director ABC Sales and Maintenance in Cairns.
