After numerous reports from truckies surfaced about the condition of these showers, the roadhouse in question was quick to act.
WA Senator Glenn Sterle, who is also a former truckie, has been behind a campaign to help clean up Australia’s roadhouses – and it’s now been going for over two years. As a result of the campaign, he says standards and conditions have been improved at over 60 sites around the country.
Sterle was contacted by several truckies last week about the condition of the showers at Shell/Coles Express in the Albury suburb of Lavington in NSW.
Yesterday Sterle shared the news on Facebook, “My team got in touch with Viva Energy Australia who operates Coles Express sites and they responded today with a photo to show the improved conditions in the bathrooms and showers.
“Thank you Viva for addressing this issue and ensuring clean facilities for our drivers!” he said.
