Woolworths will begin rolling out 25 new Foton T5 electric trucks starting this week as it commences its transition to an all-electric home delivery fleet by 2030.
The Foton T5 light duty electric truck fleet has been fitted to Woolworths specifications.
The T5 fits neatly within Woolworths Groups stated intent to decarbonise its transport and logistics operation by working collaboratively with its suppliers and partners to deliver on its sustainability agenda, the company states.
Exploring zero emissions transport opportunities within its value chain is an important component of that collaboration, it adds.
Foton Mobility Distribution (FMD) CEO Neil Wang said the company was proud to be associated with an iconic Australian brand, and to be able to partner with other proven Australian companies such as QTRS, TRS and NTI to deliver first class outcomes for both Woolworths and its customers.
Wang added that the car licence 4.5 tonne Foton T5, backed by a nationwide dealer and service network and with thousands of kilometres of proven global performance during its development, was the ideal vehicle for the last-mile Logistics industry.
With a five-year, 200,000km warranty, FMD is confident that the initial Woolworths order of 25 T5’s will encourage others in the transport and logistics sector to support companies who want to accelerate their own transmission towards Net Zero.
FMD is proud to be partnering with Woolworths Group “to create better experiences together for a better tomorrow”.
FMD is the exclusive Australian distributor of a range of zero emissions new energy commercial vehicles, including battery electric trucks, vans and buses, and hydrogen fuel cell trucks and buses.
