Followmont CEO, Mark Tobin, will be participating in the 2023 Vinnies CEO Sleepout this week – and he’s already taken to the dunk tank to help reach his fundraising goal.
With Tobin perched patiently on the seat of the dunk tank, Followmont employees tried their hand at hitting the target – with the initiative raising over $34,000.
Tobin set a fundraising goal of $75,000 and as this was being written he was only a few thousand shy of that total, with $72,930 already raised. This also sees him currently placed in the top five on the CEO Sleepout Leaderboard, based on funds raised.
“This year I’m taking part in the Vinnies CEO Sleepout to raise money for the St Vincent de Paul Society to support Australians in need. For one night, I’ll be sleeping outside as part of an eye-opening experience to raise awareness and bring home the realities of homelessness,” Tobin said on his fundraising page.
“At Followmont Transport, we want to make a difference. As shareholders we have made a commitment to being a business that uses profit for a purpose. To contribute to the direct community and wider society, ensuring we are making a positive impact for future generations. I am so passionate about giving back and this sleepout is something I am extremely proud to be a part of.”
The 2023 Vinnies CEO Sleepout will take place on Thursday June 22, to help raise funds for Vinnies’ homelessness services.
Every night in Australia, over 122,000 people are experiencing homelessness. The annual CEO Sleepout encourages leaders in business, community and government to do the same for a night, to help raise vital funds.
In 2022, 1471 CEOs, business and community leaders across Australia took part, helping to raise over $9.6 million.
