New service station, truckies’ lounge planned along Capricorn Highway

The Rockhampton Regional Council is currently reviewing plans for a new integrated service station, and a food and drink building at the existing site on 765 Capricorn Highway, Gracemere.

The proposed development for the new building will cover a gross area of 387 square metres and feature a dedicated truckies’ lounge, a service station shop, food and drink area, and other amenities.

The project plan also includes a service station with six standard refuelling points, three truck refuelling points, and four truck parking spaces, and sufficient area to accommodate access to B-doubles and other large vehicles, and surplus area to accommodate industrial and commercial activities.

The proposed development is expected to operate 24×7.

The new site is planned on an existing industrial area, a majority of which will be demolished to make room for the new 1,330 square metre landscaped area.

The proposed plan features three truck refuelling points and four truck parking spaces.

The site will be accessible from Capricorn Highway through dedicated entry and exit points. The development plan will require approval from the state government for a state road access.
