Daimler Truck Australia has issued a recall notice for its 2021 Freightliner Cascadia due to an issue relating to a soot sensor – with 21 vehicles affected.
The issue relates to a soot sensor component that may not have been installed as intended. As a result, the vehicle may release air pollutants that exceed the standards set in Australian Design Rule (ADR) 80/03.
Though this does not pose any safety hazard and the defect won’t affect the performance of the vehicle, if the component is installed incorrectly, it means the vehicles are not compliant with ADR 80/03 (Emission Control for Heavy Vehicles).
Owners are being asked to contact an Authorised Daimler Commercial Vehicle Dealership, which will inspect the soot sensor and if required, re-program or replace it, free of charge.
