Police are appealing for public assistance to locate the driver of a white prime mover who may be able to assist with their investigations into a fatal traffic crash between a truck and motorbike near Brisbane Airport today, August 11.
CCTV footage below has been released of the truck officers are looking for, which has a flatbed tray with either piping or timber on the back.
Initial investigations indicate the motorbike and truck crashed on Viola Place around 5.25am.
Emergency crews arrived shortly afterwards, but the 48-year-old motorbike rider sadly died at the scene.
The truck failed to stop and police are trying to track down the driver.
“We’re not sure the driver realised he struck the motorcyclist, (so) we are trying to find the driver,” a police spokesperson said.
“The forensic crash unit is at the scene at the moment investigating the crash.”
The circumstances around the crash are being investigated.
The crash happened around 5km away from the airport terminal in an industrial precinct and is not impacting passenger travel in any way.
