Fleet upgrade opens door for Scania R650 buyers

A major fleet upgrade at Detour Logistics, a leading Victorian-based refrigeration transport specialist, gives used truck buyers a chance to snap up a well-serviced Scania, says owner Colin Beer.

Beer has an impressive line up of 12 x 2019 Scania R650 6×4 prime movers going under the hammer this week at the Richie Bros. national unreserved auction.

“The fleet comes equipped with microwaves, TVs, refrigerators, cabin coolers, and cameras,” Beer said.

“We’re always upgrading to ensure everything works at full capacity, while also embracing the latest technologies to enhance reliability.

“With the latest technologies, we’re able to offer our drivers an improved and safer working environment, and we’ve managed to reduce fuel consumption significantly by having European equipment.”

Beer said all the trucks are well maintained by Scania and follow a strict maintenance routine.

Beer’s journey with Detour Logistics began with the purchase of a single truck, subcontracting for Wettenhall’s Interstate in 2004.

A year later, in 2005, he acquired his second truck and partnered with IFM Logistics to carry general freight. By the end of the same year, the fleet had expanded to four prime movers.

Over the years, Detour Logistics has gone from strength to strength, currently boasting an impressive fleet of 31 prime movers that provide extensive coverage along the eastern seaboard from Victorian sites in Silvan and Shepparton, as well as a Brisbane site in Rocklea.

For more information about the prime movers and to participate in the auction event, interested buyers are urged to register to bid here.
