Truckies on the Pacific Highway will need to bypass the Barry’s Creek rest areas at Cooperabung later this month to allow for essential maintenance work to be carried out.
Transport for NSW says both the northbound and southbound sites will be closed from Monday, August 28 to Saturday, September 2 in order to resurface the asphalt and then repaint lines.
Work will be carried out from 7am to 6pm on weekdays and 8am to 1pm on Saturdays, weather permitting.
All motorists, including heavy vehicles, are advised the alternative rest areas are Kempsey Service Centre, 15 kilometres to the north, or Port Macquarie Service Centre, 25 kilometres to the south.
“Transport for NSW thanks motorists for their patience during this time,” said a TfNSW media release.
