Outback Truckers star Paul ‘Sludge’ Andrews  may have had his world turned upside down after a serious motorcycle crash in March, but he wasn’t going to miss this day for anything.

On Saturday, September 9, Sludge married “love of his life” Wendy Kennedy in what he’d earlier described as a “simple” affair at home before a few family and friends, with numbers “drastically” reduced due to his long battle back to full health.

“Yesterday I married the love of my life Wendy. A big thank to my cousin #bridalbysamantha, who  did an amazing job [with pictures] on the day,” Sludge wrote on his Facebook page.

“Here are some pictures to share with you all. Such a fantastic day. Enjoy, Mr & Mrs Sludge/ Andrews.”

In an earlier post, Sludge said he was told by doctors that he was lucky to still be alive after his accident, which resulted in a fractured skull, eye sockets, cheeks and ribs, a bleed to the brain, torn ligaments in his neck, along with on-going back and hip pain.

Sludge also thanked his fans for their support over the last six months, which he described as the toughest period of his life.

“I was in hospital for months and I’ve had to learn to walk again. There’s still a long way to go but without the support of people like you guys out there I’m not sure I would be as far down the track as I am today. You won’t be seeing me in the Phantom for a bit but don’t you worry I’ll be getting back out on the road as soon as I can!”

A GoFundMe page that was started to help Sludge get back on his feet, has now raised $25,673 of its $30,000 target.
