A truck driver has walked away with minor injuries after an explosive crash that forced the temporary closure of part of the main highway through the NSW Central Coast.
According to the Tuggerah Rural Fire Brigade, one of several crews on the scene, the driver did not require further treatment.
A post on the fire brigade’s Facebook page said the truck had collided with the guard rail causing an explosion to occur, severely damaging the vehicle and scattering debris across the motorway.
Emergency services remained on the scene late into Tuesday morning after the incident on the M1 Pacific Motorway northbound at Ourimbah, north of Gosford, at about 9.20pm on Monday, September 11.
Police later said Hazmat crews were also involved in the clean up, and confirmed that the driver had suffered minor injuries.
All lanes are now clear, according to Live Traffic NSW.
