Australia Post is looking to fill thousands of transport jobs in the lead-up to Christmas.
Some 3,000 seasonal casual roles are available, and forklift and truck drivers with a valid licence are their top priority for recruitment.
Seasonal casual roles are also available for freight handlers and parcel processors across the delivery network as Australia Post ramps up its operations for the busiest period of the year.
Roles are open in all states and territories in Australia but New South Wales, Victoria and Queensland will reportedly have the highest demand in the coming months.
Australia Post executive general manager People and Culture, Susan Davies, said seasonal casuals play a crucial role in helping Australia Post ensure deliveries reach customers in time for the festive period.
“As we approach our busiest time of year, we’re looking to bolster our workforce to ensure we can meet increased demand and maintain the high level of service Australians expect from Australia Post.
“We’re looking for seasonal casuals to work alongside our existing team members and would love to hear from people who have a valid forklift or truck license, as well as people looking to work in parcel processing, deliveries and freight handling.”
Davies added that taking up a casual role over the Christmas period could potentially lead to more long-term employment with Australia Post.
“Working at Australia Post offers team members the opportunity to be a part of a great, supportive team and help to spread the Merry this Christmas.
“Working in a seasonal casual role can also create opportunities to work with Australia Post beyond the end of the year.
“We have many team members who initially joined us as a seasonal casual and are still part of our team many years later.”
