Transport and Main Roads Queensland (TMR) inspectors will be out in force, intercepting dangerous goods (DG) vehicles, as part of “Operation Cyclone”.
TMR has teamed up with Resources Safety & Health Queensland to launch Operation Cyclone, which is being led by the National Heavy Vehicle Regulator (NHVR) to ensure heavy vehicles in Queensland are transporting dangerous goods safely.
“Our inspectors will be out intercepting these vehicles to assess compliance with Heavy Vehicle National Law and Regulations (HVNL) and state-based legislation,” TMR said.
In August, the NHVR led a national operation to assess the compliance risk of heavy vehicles transporting dangerous goods.
As part of Operation Cyclone, the NHVR, law enforcement agencies and regulatory partners from all HVNL states have been working together to check compliance in this space.
The NHVR said, “The results of the operation will provide valuable insights into this sector, with the information being used to deliver guidance and support to industry on the safe transportation of dangerous goods. The operation also demonstrates the benefits of cross collaboration between agencies.”
