Excitement is building for the Brisbane Convoy for Kids, which is now just under three weeks away.
The event will kick off with a huge convoy on Saturday November 4, with about 700 trucks expected.
The convoy will enter the Logan Motorway from Paradise Road, Larapinta at 8.30am. From there, it will make its way along the Gateway Motorway and Deagon Deviation before crossing into Redcliffe where it will travel along the waterfront, up Oxley Avenue and into the Redcliffe Showgrounds.
There, a fantastic display of trucks will be parked for all to see – and that’s not all there is to look forward to on the day.
Attendees will enjoy free amusement rides, an animal nursery, fireworks and an excellent live music line-up including country music artist Adam Harvey, troubadour Dallas Steele from Far North Queensland, and popular local group MattLach.
Brisbane Convoy for Kids president Jason Prince said: “Year on year, we are blown away by the support that we receive for our event, from our truck drivers to our attendees to our amazing sponsors.
“This year we expect close to 700 trucks to be in our convoy and once parked up at the Redcliffe Showgrounds, everyone can get up close and marvel at the rigs on display and choose your favourite truck while the official truck show judging is happening.”
The charity chosen as beneficiary for funds raised this year is Hummingbird House, Queensland’s only Children’s Hospice. Hummingbird House provide short stay breaks, family support, end-of-life care and ongoing care for children with life-limiting conditions and their families.
