Maintenance works are taking place on the Princes Highway from now through to December 2023, including asphalting and line marking to restore the condition of the road surface.
Crews began work on October 23 on sections of the Princes Highway in Footscray, Kingsville, Tottenham and Brooklyn. They will be work at night between 8pm to 5am.
Detours are in place, with travel delays of up to 20 minutes expected.

- Princes Highway-Geelong Road and Barkly Street intersection, Footscray (Nov 7-9)
- Princes Highway-Geelong Road and Ballarat Road intersection and Princes Highway-Geelong Road and Droop Street intersection, Footscray (Nov 8-23)
- Princes Highway-Geelong Road near Geelong Street, Kingsville (Nov 14-23)
- Princes Highway-Geelong Road near Somerville Road, Kingsville (Nov 22-29)
- Princes Highway-Geelong Road near Cemetery Road, Tottenham (Nov 26-29)
- Princes Highway-Geelong Road near Millers Road and McDonalds Road, Brooklyn (Nov 29-Dec 13)
Detours
A detour will be in place when Princes Highway-Smithfield Road is closed between Epsom Road and Moore Street in Footscray.
A detour will be in place when eastbound lanes are closed on Princes Highway-Geelong Road between Barkly Street and Batman Street.
Detours will be in place when sections of Princes Highway-Geelong Road and Ballarat Road are closed in Footscray.
