Memorial and convoy for fallen truckies to take place this weekend

The White Hill Truck Drivers’ Memorial event will take place this weekend at Murray Bridge, South Australia, honouring truck drivers who have lost their lives.

The service will start at 11am sharp, with trucks lining up at the top of White Hill parking bay on the eastbound side by 9am to attach banners on their trucks before heading towards the memorial.

Sadly there will not be a truck show this year, but organiser Keith Wood says they are hoping to bring it back next year.

The memorial was conceived by Tailem Bend driver Wood, who worked tirelessly lobbying the council, designing, fundraising and eventually building the first stage of the structure. There are now over 100 names on the wall.

Wood encourages as many people and trucks as possible to come along to honour truckies who have passed away.
