This year’s Mullumbimby Truck Show was a huge hit, with a whopping 12,000 in attendance thanks to its partnership with the local Agricultural Show.
“We broke last year’s record by about 25%, it was unbelievable,” said organiser Mark Ward.
“We had about 85 trucks registered too, which is really good for us, we can’t cater for much more than that!”
With many elements to the day, from awards across 18 categories at the truck show to a whole host of entertainment at the agricultural show, including a petting zoo, live music, a demolition derby and circus performamces.
Truck of the Show went to Jasson Essex from Fred’s Interstate Transport, with Taylor Holdings from Corindi Beach coming in a close second with a stunning Kenworth SAR.
“Our truck show is a little bit different to other truck shows because it’s very family-oriented,” he said.
“We have sideshow alley, there’s something for the wives and kids all day long.”
Ward has been running the truck show in the town of Mullumbimby, NSW since 2009.
“I decided to set up the show because I’m an ex truck driver and when I stopped driving interstate, I didn’t get to see my mates as much.
“I wanted to get everyone back together so we can all have a reunion. A lot of the same guys come every year.”
